Chickens (10 euros) and goats (30 euros) help provide a living. By selling eggs or having a chicken farm, the people can earn money. Goats can be held relatively easy. Goat milk provide valuable protein for children.
Menstrual pads
Books
A lot of girls cannot afford menstrual pads. Every month they miss 4 to 5 days of school, because they only have old rags, toilet paper or banana leaves to help them during menstruation. Because of that, they become behind on school or don’t come back at all.
So-called reusable ‘Afri pads’ (1 package for 4 euros) makes participation at school during menstruation possible.
Monthly school material and the school uniform are a condition to go to school. Book prices varies between 3 to 10 euros, depending on the level of the class. The prices for a school uniform starts at 20 euros.
Bricks
Mosquito net
1000 bricks for 100 euros help with building classrooms, a wall or renovating a decayed school building.
Mosquito can transmit malaria. Malaria kills more than one million people a year. 90% of those who dies, are the children in Africa.
A mosquito net (5 euros) can save lives.
